What is in it for me?
Volunteer
workers benefit from their experience in many ways.
For many it is a chance to get out into
the community, make new friends and contribute to the community. For others it is a stepping stone to re-entering the
workforce.
Some use their volunteer work to build skill levels and
gain experience ready to enter the workforce for the first time. Employers
are often impressed by voluntary work experience that is listed on your
resume.
Some people like to continue to use their skills after
retirement. It is important that you enjoy working with us as much
as we enjoy your company and appreciate your work. We need to work together
to ensure that your needs are met as well as ours.
There are regular Volunteer Training Programs. These
are an initiative funded by Moreland City Council to support community
organisations, groups and clubs.
The training courses are offered in a
variety of formats with diverse
content to suit volunteers at varying levels of competence and interest.
